drinking game? A friend's employer demanded that she and other employees at the company participate in a drinking game to see who could drink the most shots of alcohol in the least period of time. They were told they would be penalized if they refused to participate: they would be given crappy work to do on a day that the other people -- the ones who agreed to participate -- would be given an extra holiday. My question: can a boss legally do this?

(By the way, the drinking game was held, and a couple of people got sick. However, luckily, no one got in a drunk driving accident.)

My question is not whether the boss should have done this (obviously he shouldn't have done it!). My question is whether an employee could take action against the boss for demanding that she do it. My friend is not a recovering alcoholic and does not have a religious objection to alcohol -- she just did not want to get drunk and sick.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
