For those who have had or are having issues with you L4L5 disc....what are your symptoms and pain areas. I had a micro done at L5S1 in Jan but am now having a really bad aching pain in the front of my thigh and in my groin area. No shooting pains just aching aching aching. Does this sound like L4L5.

I had fusion on L4-L5 L5-S1 And it failed I have the same pain plus more. What you are experiencing is from L4-L5

Look online ( I would give the link but not sure if I can) for a "Spinal Nerve Distribution Chart"

This will show what levels are what nerves.

Hope this helps.

I am fused at l4/l5. The disc was torn and all the gel was gone from it, yet hte disc shell was still holding up for some very strange reason. My pain was not front thigh pain, but I did occasionally get groin pain. My pain was more sciatica in symptom, with lower back, buttock pain with pain shooting down back of thigh to calf and foot. Mostly right side.

It took the 4th or 5th surgeon after 3.5 years of constant pain to figure out it was this disc by doing a discogram. The disc fairly normal on all my mris.

Hope this helps you some.

I had a diskectomy and laminectomy done in March L3-L4-L5. I had the pain down the leg on the outside and back of the leg. Sometimes I would have pain in my thigh. My groin was hurting enough that I thought maybe my hip had gone bad as my hubby had that same type of pain before he did have his hips done. My ortho took an xray and said the pain was coming from the back, the hip was fine. My feet tingled alot and burned. My little toe really hurt as did my heels. I lay in bed at night just aching. I also would and still do get sharp pains in my very low back just to the side of the spine. The surgeon said that is more of the arthritis but I didn't want to be fused or get into hardware so I am still going to have issues. Hope that gives some info
