Where do go next? Almost 4 years ago, my L4 ruptured, causing pain you would not believe. I had surgery to repair the disk and seemed to be doing great. Seven weeks later, it ruptured again, sending fragments on the siatic
nerve in the left leg. My surgeon worked 90 minutes repairing just the nerve.
Two years ago, I had surgery for the third time for bulging L4, L5 disk. A few weeks later, the pain is back. This time I go to pain management and have
nerve block injections in the L4 and L5 Left side. Ever couple of months, these injections are repeated. My last series was first part of April with no relief. The last two weeks I have had acupuncture 3 times each week. I stay on pain medicine daily with very small results. What is my next course of action??

HfielRAB, I just don't know what to say, just reading your post hurts me! I can't believe your going through this over and over. There is no information that I can offer only prayer. Keep asking around though some one is sure to answer.

From my understanding, if you've had three injections that weren't very sucessful, then something called radio frequency ablation would be the next step. I've never had it done so hopefully others will chime in. I wish it had been offered to me before surgery, but it wasn't. I had two unsucesssful injections prior to surgery. I just had my first post-op injection a week ago-and that's how long it lasted too:( So, I will go for two more, then think about the ablation if they didn't work out well. Take Care, --janiee08
