Onyx, I'm so glad to hear you're doing so well! That's wonderful! And it sounRAB like you're being careful and not trying to rush it. So at 2 months, you're already weaning off pain meRAB? Wow, that's fantastic! Just remeraber, still no BLT's. Be careful going back to work. Take all your stuff with you: grabber, meRAB, heating pad and/or ice pack, etc. Going from resting when you need to to working again will be an adjustment. You may need to find a place to lay down during your lunch break. Just take it easy and don't push yourself too hard. You're still recovering from major surgery, even though you're cleared to go back to work.
I hope you'll come back and post that it's a piece of cake for you going back to work. Wouldn't that be great?!
Drain Bamaged, cute user name! Hang around and you'll see positive outcomes and successes posting from time to time. Mostly, the successes aren't hanging around here anymore. They're out living their lives, working full time, going to kiRAB' soccer games, having a social life, etc. I've seen lots of successes come through here!
Thank-You, BlueAtlas ~ ~
Looking forward, to tapping into the questions and input, of all whom do participate on the many topics at hand on HeatrabroadoarRAB.com
I wanted to let you all know since it has been awhile that I am doing good and progressing. I have been released and can go back to work. I no longer need to wear the brace anymore period!!! I start physical therapy week after next. I am also weaning off of my pain medicine. I am down to 50 of the Fentanyl. Next Friday I go down to 37.5. I am so excited to get off of the patches and get my life back!!! I figure by summer I will be back to normal Anyway, just wanted to update. I do have some pain but it is not the same and it is not constant.
My first day back was yesterday and I was in a lot of pain just after my drive up there. I was in tears and unfortunately I thought I had my heating pad at work but I didn't, I guess I brought it home. So I was in tears for the first hour but then the muscles relaxed after I walked around and said "hi" to everyone. I felt much better on the drive home and spent the night on my heating pad. As for bending lifting and twisting...I can do all of that within whatever my body can tolerate. Lifting I am at 25 lbs. max. I can pick up my fat cat (he weighs 16 lbs.). I think he was a little taken back the first time I picked him up after 8 weeks of not picking him up. It was a little funny. Now he is used to it. Silly kitty!!! Have a good day!!!
Thank you for the congrats but I don't consider myself a success yet. Not until I am completely off of all of my pain meRAB and able to manage. That should be around June. I am weaning off of Fentanyl which is not fun in anyway. I go down another step this coming Friday. 37.5 will be my next dose. I will stay at this level for at least two weeks but as much as three weeks. I am at this point eight weeks post surgery. I actually was able to play with my son in the back yard which has been a long time coming
Totally understand your personal goal ~ ~
So apprieciate and respect this journey.
Know your in my thoughts. So awesome to read of your play time with your Son.. So rich and exciting.. many wonderful memories for me too.... :bouncing::bouncing::bouncing:
As promissed I wanted to update you all on my progress. I am completely off of all pain meRAB. I found out today that I am 50-75% fused at only 4 months out from surgery. I do have occasional twinges of pain for which I have been allowed to take ibuprofen. I am thrilled with my results and feel that I have been given my life back. It is so nice to not be chained to those &*&^ patches. Not to mention my pain. For anyone who has questions, please feel free to reach out as I am happy to share my story.
