Hi, I'm new on here but I have had a discectomy 22 days ago on my L4/L5 as there was an 11mm bulge on the disc. I waited 9 months before taking the op. The operation seemed to go fine & the stiffness & pain in my back has gone. I did have some pains down my leg before & a slight pain after the operation.
However about 3 days after the operation when I got out of bed I was not able to stand up straight, if you were to look at me face-to-face my hip was skewed off to the right & I had pain in my right buttock. The pain also travelled down the back of my calf. If I move in the bad I get a darting shock of pain down my leg. If I stand up for too long the pain gets progressively worse & I find it very difficult to walk. If I sleep/lie on my back the pain in my leg gets progressively worse.
Has anybody else experienced this skewness? I also cannot bend my hip to my right, it kind of locks, there are no issues going to the right.
Any experience comments welcome
