Kooky destinations for a USA road trip?

I'm planning a road trip across the USA and am looking for suggestions of where to go that I WOULD NOT find in a travel guide. Those silly little crazy mind boggling stops that make a road trip so much fun. World largest pizza, UFO museum and the like. Let me know what you've seen and where to find it. Thanks all for your help
