Know of a full HowTo description for installing Android on a PC?

Is there any documentation describing how to set up a full Linux system install for Android OS on a PC? I am looking for a complete description starting with a Debian (or Fedora) OS install to getting /finding all the packages required (libraries / .so files, Java 1.5 or ...) to build the Android-x86 code (or other PC-based Android OS).
 
why would you want android on your computer?
its a phone operating system. Its not a computer operating system D'oh
