It's a 302ci, a few days ago i noticed the passenger side of the engine has a little knock or ticking noise like it will knock or tick a couple times then stop for about 2 to 5 seconds about then it will knock or tick again it will do about the same over and over but when i rev it some you don't hear it at all what is it? When i got it the valve cover on the passenger side was off so it had some crap on it but i cleaned as much as i could and put a valve cover on, and it smokes oil out that side of the motor and i can look at the exhaust which comes out before the tire, their oil that will drip out of it just a little though so does that mean the rings are bad on that side?
