Knocked cyclist off bike, no mot and it has been reported to police, what will happen?

asking for a friend, they knocked a cyclist off a bike by accident, they took him 2 hospital he was badly bruised but ok, left all contact details with them, they called him and my friend said he that he would pay damages but then he was contacted by police saying he hadn't reported the accident. He has just realised the mot had run out also. Does anybody know what he will be charged with and what will the punishment be? Many thanks in advance.
 
Failing to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, dangerous or undue care whilst driving, no current MOT. As for punishment, that depends on his solicitor presenting a good case, and the judge. :(
