Knee pressure when riding bike?

I love to ride my bike but I feel like my thighs aren't getting a workout because I mostly feel pressure on my knees. I've never had a problem with my knees before. They're fine with walking, running, and doing squats, it's only biking. It hardly hurts though, only when I stand up on my bike, most of the time it's just pressure. How do I prevent it and make sure I'm getting a good cardio exercise?
