I recently went through a move where I did a lot of heavy lifting up and down stairs (I moved onto the 3rd floor of a townhouse from the second floor of another townhouse). There was no specific point of injury, but it became sore toward the end of the move. A day later, I have pain in my knee but only when walking down stairs--there is no soreness or swelling otherwise. The pain seems to come from the center-outside of the knee, just under the kneecap. The pain comes when I complete a downward step, as I shift weight from the injured knee to the non-injured knee. I am on the ball of at the end of the downward step (just as the other foot is about to touch) when the pain comes. I'm fairly healthy and young and have never had any knee problems. Thanks!
