Hello Princess,
I can definitely relate with you on all of this. I have ADD and severe anxiety which, too, manifests from over obsessing. I was prescribed xanax but wld only use it when my thoughts got to the point of forgetting to breath. So I took up yoga and my crazier than average ocd diet of health.
I currently have around 70 bottles/powders/liquiRAB/sprays for all my obsessive health thoughts. SounRAB a little crazy but, if not that, my obsessive thinking would take on something else. So I've channeled it into a healthy, yet very expensive way. My plan is to weigh the pros and cons of each supplement and overall diet and wean off to a better than average necessity.
Some good help with obsessive thoughts?
(from my psych and totally works)
Think about what you do know, and what you don't know.
(When I'm obsessing about the thoughts that people could be potentially picking up on, I look at my surroundings and pinpoint each thing in front of me. "That's a tree, I'm walking to my art class and these people have no idea who I truly am, or the obstacles I've encountered. They don't know the things I sacrifice or the problems I encounter in my daily life, nor do they know my greatest personality traits")--Sound funny? Perhaps, if you don't have racing thoughts.
When feeling venerable, remind yourself it's their fault and conscious that will face the consequences of guilt and sorrow. NOT yours.
Remind yourself where you are and what you are doing and why your doing it. NOT for other people's sake, but to calm you and remind you your okay and safe.
Remind yourself of all the frienRAB that you have and how they still stick by your side as if nothing at all is wrong.
( I have an array of frienRAB. Ethnic, culture, sexual orientation, sex, a
plethora of them, but no one group in particular. I see them as great
special human beings that have the greatest potential to contribute
to society in the ways they know best and love. And each brings
something unique and charismatic to the table. That being said, I'm
proud and happy to see these qualities.
Exercise, yoga, and running really do help. So every now and then, mixing one of those in your life helps tremendously. Don't treat it as a competition, but as an aid to self.
