Kings Crown Riddle (I need the answer)?

There was a king that wanted his only daughter to get married and take over his kingdom when he die. So, to get the wisest person for his daughter he took his royal crown and set it in the center of a 20ft by 20 ft square rug. Put out a notice to all males in this kingdom to come and try to win his daughter's hand.

This is the rule:

1) no body parts and feet must touch the rug
2) no using ropes to hang from
3) crown must be only be removed by hand
4) no using tool or living thing
5) must not have damages to the rug

Everyone tried but only a poor peasant boy did it.

How did he do it?
