King of the Hill - "The Boy Can't Help It" - Talkback [9/13]

Really, the big thing I was wondering the entire episode was why the hell Bobby didn't even consider Connie.

Could've been a perfect chance to finally wrap up that plot thread, but...no.

Posting here for the first time in forever...

I wasn't a particularly big fan of this episode. There were some really good lines (the guys being out of projects, the Joseph one about the deck of cards, basically everything that Kahn said), but the A-plot and B-plot both fell flat. The B-plot was just really awkward, and the A-plot obviously suffered from the complete lack of Connie after the initial spoiler implied she would be involved. Would have been a perfect time to at least address that particular plot thread one last time, but I guess we're just supposed to acknowledge that Season 6 was the end of it.

Meh.

It's possible the description was mixed up with another episode's description. I don't know why it would mention Connie, seeing as she wasn't even so much as referenced in this episode at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bobby and Connie break up in one episode? Sure, they were still friends, but there wasn't anything romantic between them like there was before.

YAY to the awesome lines, especially in the first act ("He's the Girl Whisperer!")

Boo to no Kahn Jr. I was waiting for that the entire time. BOOOOO again!

And a little boo to what was apparently the beginning of making KOTH a four-act show, just like what they did to The Simpsons. Forcing more people to buy ad-skipping devices isn't a good business decision.

About Spongy's cart: surely some of you have seen bums lately who overload shopping carts with garbage bags filled with who knows what. I've been seeing a lot more of them over the past year, and I thought it was funny KOTH picked up on it and plussed it by joining the carts together. The B-plot worked for me.

I do like how, deep down, Bobby carries the same kind of "do the right thing" attitude as his father, as we saw when he defended the girls even after they "dumped" him.

Though I must admit I'm a little confused about what the girls' motivations for befriending Bobby were. What was their "experiment"? To hang out with Bobby and then reveal that they weren't his girlfriends? I don't get it. Seems like the typical "I'm your friend, but not your girlfriend" shtick, only with three of them at once. They made it sound like he was their guinea pig for a psychological study they were conducting, which I think is giving them too much credit.
