My sister is having a sex toy party... yes, a sex toy party, on Friday. Her and I want to go to an Amazing Superstore tomorrow to see what kind of funny things we can get for the party (you know, x-rated shaped cookie cutters, themed napkins and plates, etc...) I will have my son with me, is it inappropriate to bring my 9 month old into a store like this if we're only going in to buy things meant as jokes? What do you think?
Yeah, I think you're completely right about people seeing it as trashy. If I were in the store and someone brought their baby in, I'd probably be swearing them up and down on the car ride home. I just wanted to know what other people thought. :) So the verdict is in... he is NOT going in the store.

I'm pretty open about sex stuff and intend to be so with my son. But I don't think it's appropriate for you to bring your baby into a store like that, regardless of what you are looking for. Your baby won't know what is going on, but it will make you look trashy. It will make the people that work there and the other customers uncomfortable. And it's simply unnecessary - one of you can wait outside with the kid. If you want to have a giggly girls day at the sex store, you need to find a sitter.

I don't think that it's inappropriate when he's only 9 months. I think that you can get away with a bit more when they are that young than you can as they get older. Plus, where I live, we can buy the types of things that you are talking about in the mall in the same store that sells cool toys for kids, so I don't think it would be inappropriate even if he's a bit bigger. However, I'm also pretty open about that kind of thing.

Oh, and I promise you, I'm not white trash...just not quite soccer mom either :)
