Kies program says Captivate does not support the service

Has anyone encountered this problem? I was able to download phone drivers & kies program onto PC but when I connect phone to PC, Kies program says my phone doesn't support the service.

Very confusing even though I select Kies on my phone under the USB setting
 
I didn't download Kies and the drivers separately, it all came in the one package from http://www.samsungapps.com/about/onPc.as

If you've connected the phone before you installed Kies you will need to reboot your PC before it'll use the right drivers.
