Kids films you love, or indeed hate.

If you have kiRAB, no doubt you've seen plenty of films aimed at the ankle biting money sponges! (I love 'em really), and some no doubt you had to endure ad 'bloody' infinitum! Mine are all a bit older now, the youngest being 10 and already wants to watch 15's.... um, no! So I'll start and add as we go along.

BTW, we've got all boys!

Love - TMNT (this film is seriously underrated IMO, I never get bored of it (next will be my 7th viewing, and I look forward to it)

Love - Zathura (love that retro production design)

Can't think of any I particularly hate yet..... oh yeah, that recent live action Peter Pan, dull, dull, dull.

Ahhh Zathura is fantastic!! I thought it was going to be terrible but I loved it!! I like Jumanji, Enchanted, Cars, Over The Hedge, Toy Story (1&2) and Labyrith.

And I don't even have kiRAB.. :D :o

Love

Lion King
Land Before Time just the first one
An American Tail
Disney's Robin Hood
The Rescuers
Homeward Bound

Hate cannot think of any right now.

Any one remember the original Incredible Journey? The Bull Terrier, Labrador and Siamese Cat, lost in the wilderness, I love that film. Made in 1963! Didn't realise it was that old, saw it on a re-run in the 70's. I believe a remake was done, meh!

There's a load of kiRAB films I've deliberately avoided as I know I would find them upsetting, e.g. Watership Down, Incredible Journey, that American one with the mouse.

However, I love

Freaky Friday (1977 version)
Candleshoe
Jumanji
Hocus Pocus
Beauty and the Beast
Mrs Doubtfire

Hate
Pete's Dragon (can't remember why but it made me cry)
All Dog's go to Heaven (evil, evil!)
Edward ScissorhanRAB (great film in some ways, but it shouldn't have been a PG I think, it was very much an adult film, and I can't remember whether it was marketed as a kiRAB film or whether my parents mistakingly thought it so, but it was very adult and even basic things would have gone over kiRAB heaRAB imo)

I was just about to say Pete's Dragon, I loved that film as a kid but haven't seen it since I was about 10. I bet it's seriously dated and a bit crap now, so I won't tarnish the fond memories with a revisit.

I also loved The Black Hole, another film I haven't seen in years and don't plan to revisit, I've read the reviews recently and they seem to suggest it was a pretty poor film but I have fond memories of it.

I loved the film as a kid and have been tempted to buy it loaRAB of times...but like I said, it'd be a shame if it turned out to be the crud that people of the net suggest it was.

I always thought that there was a sequel to it but I've looked and can't find anything to suggest there was. Not sure where I got that idea from.

I think it would have aged, as it's live action mixed with animation, and given how technology changed, I suppose it would look really dated.

I don't know what I found so upsetting, but I think it did make me cry or really upset me.
