I'm trying to help a friend find the title of a book he loved as a child. According to him, here are some of the salient points:
- There was a giant who would send his boots out to catch people for him.
- The boots would come to your door and kick on it.
- Once you opened the door and brought the boots in, they would use their "magic" to make you put them on, and then they would lead you back to the giant.
- The hero's parents were captured, and in order to save them, he hatched a plan.
- He nailed the boots to the floor, cut them up, fed them to a pig, and then rode the pig to the giant.
- He saved his parents.
I've done a pretty exhaustive search on Google, Gutenberg, Amazon, etc - but to no avail (and I'm typically REALLY good at these searches).
Has ANYONE heard of this book? I'd be quite appreciative of any information you might have. Thank you for your time.
