I recently lost my favorite cat due to letting him roam outdoors. About a week after he left, two small kittens showed up in our carport, as I was calling for my lost cat. I felt so awful about having put my cat in so much danger, that I immediately took the kittens in with the intention of finding them a good home. The problem is that no one seems to want kittens. I've called the local animal shelter--they're full. None of the pet stores want them. My husband is getting anxious to get rid of them, as we already have 2 cats (both kept indoors) a labrador, and a 3 month old baby. My husband said he'd pay to have the kittens spayed (they're just now old enough), and would get them collars and tags, if I would keep them outside. However, after my cat disappeared I'm extemely apprehensive about having outside cats. But it's the only way my husband will agree to let me keep them. So, my question is this: what precautions can I take to keep them safe outdoors? Also, what other methods would you recommend for finding them a good home?
