I'm currently a first-semester transfer (but second semester sophomore) at Temple University and I live on campus without my car. Next year (my junior year), I will be renting a house with two roommates about a block or so away from campus (right behind the track). I've noticed that the public transportation system is really inconvenient, and I have to do over 100 Professional Development Hours as part of my major, and certain places aren't as easily accessed by public transportation. This is all compounded by the fact that I will be having surgery over the summer, so walking long distances once getting off of subways, buses, etc. is pretty inconvenient. I'm just wondering if it's really safe to bring my car (a 2005 Jetta) down to campus next semester? I'd obviously park it in front of my house, but I'm just afraid it'll be broken into, etc. I know North Philly isn't exactly the nicest area, and I'm from MA so I don't know the area too well... would it be a good idea to bring my car or no?
Thanks for the help!
