As the Soviet Russian Astronomer Nikolai Kardashev proposed, civilizations are broken up into three types based on amount of energy and planetary resources that are fully used to there extent, if you don't know what the types are look it up. As Carl Sagan proposed type 3 is a a civilization that uses all the out put energy in a galactic super-cluster (Kardashev says the galaxy), so you have to assume that the proposed 4th would be either the known universe or half of the super-clusters, my question is would a 5th be considered if the 4th was only several super-clusters?
