...do about this? I had some drinks with my boyfriend in August, I rarely drink or go out, but I made the stupid decision to drive home and got pulled over around midnight. I got submitted to the test, blew over the limit, and was arrested.
I live in Kansas, and thought that your license would be suspended for 30 days then restricted for 330. Or at least thats what I was told by the officer when I asked him how long I would lose my license. I have had NO previous traffic violations in KS. I got a letter one week ago informing me that my license has been SUSPENDED for one year. This doesn't make sense to me and I don't understand. I made a mistake, but I'm a responsible person and 4.0 GPA and work 2 jobs to pay for things. (only now I can't drive)

If I get a lawyer can I fight this? I've never been in trouble before and tried to make it through without a lawyer because truth is, I can't really afford one. I realize now that I should have gotten one, because I have no clue about all this. I need my license to get to school and work. What can I do? Do I have no choice but to wait it out? I am finishing out this semester but I have missed 2 classes already because I couldn't find a ride and live so far from school. I am considering taking a break from school because of this. I have already called my local DMV and Topeka they were no help.
