Hi all, new to the forums. Yesterday I got a K770i and a SanDisk 4gb M2 memory card for it, I put the memory card in and at first it worked fine, it showed up on the memory status and allowed me to save pictures, music etc. to it but later last night when trying to add more songs I suddenly got a message saying something along the lines of 'Phone Cannot Accept Incoming Data', since then the phone doesn't even recognise the memory card when inserted, though when turning the phone on, it asks me if i'm sure I'd like to format the memory card, so I tried yes and no, and neither make any difference to the phone recognising the card and even when you click yes to formatting it doesn't do so.

Since this all happened I've tried a Sony 256mb card in the phone, which works fine, and have checked that the 4gb card isn't broken using a card reader, which shows it to be working fine.

Thanks in advance for any replies/help!

You could perhaps try formatting it using a PC instead of the phone. I'm not totally sure what's going on with it, but it just sounds like your phone is stuck in a bit of a loophole with what to do with the card and how to do it. Formatting it via a PC should prove more sucessful, since PC's are more widely compatible with different devices. It dosn't sound like there's anything wrong with the card, as it was working when you got it. During the copying process, it may have experienced a slight data transfer corruption - which has resulted in all of this. Like I said, try formatting the card with a PC and if you get no good results, just let me know :) .

Hi Zarphor, cheers for the advice. Tried formatting the card thru my PC but still get the same results when trying it with my phone. Any other ideas mate?

Well when you said the PC's card reader shows it to be working fine, do you mean it's able to detect the memory card and its data? Or just the memory card? If it only detects the card and not the data, chances are there's something up with one of the contacts on the card maybe. I'm not too sure...

Well kill the hassle and take it back to the vendor and clam the warranty (if it remains) or try this way:

- Do not fully insert the card in mem slot. Just get inside and slowly slide it and then get it back. Check to see the difference.

- Clean the connectors of the card

Cheers

I was actually going to suggest the same thing. Most phones can only handle up to 2gb but I'll look this phone up real quick and get back with more info.

EDIT:

Ok since I still can't post links but here is just a section of info I copied and pasted with info regarding the K770i:
