K300a Downloads

Hello,

I just bought a Sony Ericsson K300a with a Fido 2 year plan. I looked at the Fido proces for downloads, which was a rediculous $4 per ringtone. I noticed that you can connect to a Laptop via Infared, and my laptop does have infared. Does this mean I can download and install things for free via my laptop? If so, how?

Sorry if this is posted somewhere, or I should be reading it somewhere in the manual. I have been looking for an hour with no luck.

Ok, I think I figred this out.

I put it near my laptop, the laptop picks it up (Windows 98se), so if I send a file I downloaded off the internet, its free, correct?
