K@N Air Filter

Yes.....no.....maybe......I don't know.

Some models it does; some it doesn't. If you don't tear up the airbox in the process, it's easy enough to try......and fall back if need be.

BUT I'm sure it has been discussed to DEATH on here already at least twice.
Alas, 3 character searches don't work so K&N is out; have you tried maybe "air filter" ??

Maybe somebody else with a better memory can post a short summary OR a link to a previous thread.

Depends on the K&N you buy. If compatible to OEM then probably no but if you buy G-mans K&N then I would have to say yes. My K&N opening is at least 4 times larger over stock, big difference in the amount of air that is pumped into the jugs. Some guys but K&N stock replacement then cut out the top for massive air, G-mans K&N is cut all the way open by K&N.

between running too high octane gas and having the K&N air filter... my opinion is definetely for the love of god please stick to stock unless your willing to spend countless dough on pipes... FI controllors... Dyno tests.... and countless man hours getting this crap right!!! ..... stock

I've been saying that for 30 years.......but not so much lately because the "lemming" mentality and the draw of all the hype is so strong.
It's the old: Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up.

Then there's the "Internet forum testimonial": I spent 3 months and hunderds of dollars (thousands?) doing various "upgrades" to my bike and I just LOVE it! (Truth: Bikes been unrideable most of those 3 months 'cause I screwed it up at least twice. Ended up with an extra 2 HP that you can't even really tell without a dyno but I THINK it's more powerful because it makes all that awesome NOISE. Oh, and it still isn't running exactly right and I don't know what to do to fix it.....but I won't admit that 'cause it is too embarassing.)

Thanks for posting, though. Maybe a rider or two will actually listen to reason. :bluethum:

lol... I love the noise... however, I refuse to spend 800+ dollars for a possible 5hp gain that like easyrider stated... takes about 3 months of finangling around to get things right... its pointless. If you want a hp gain, get a bigger bike!

Yeah, you have to open the wallet a bit but with the Bully a dyno is not necessary unless you just have to know the true performance. Tuning is a breeze!!

Seems to me that if you want enough power to go two up and pull a trailer then simply buying a powerful bike in the 1st place is the best answer.
