Hey Tammy:

Just wanted to wish you a happy surgery anniversary. How are you doing these days? How is PT going? Pain levels?

Here's my update: I'm doing okay and actually had a visit this morning with the pain doc who doesn't want to see me again for several months. My PT was successful and I'm doing much better, but still dealing with stabby foot pain. Back and legs are doing better, probably as good as it's ever gonna be, around a 2-3 most days. It's tolerable.

Thank heavens Spring has sprung and the endless rain has ceased. I've been doing a lot of beach walking with the dogs which I know is much harder than regular walking, but a girl's got to have some fun and I take a muscle relaxant and ice afterwarRAB. Plus I've lost 30 pounRAB over five months. Woohoo. I am almost the weight I was pre-surgery.

So check in, Sister, and let me know how you are. How should we spend our anniversary? Maybe a rollercoaster ride? ;) and then some jet-skiing?

Hey Gal! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU TOO! You beat me to it! I thought of you all day, but I was so darn busy I never got to post. Then last night I sat down and fell asleep in the recliner for serveral hours.

You sound like you are doing great! My PT is still ongoing, but so far, I am making incredible progress and doing things I never thought I would be able to do again, exercise wise. I have my low dose meRAB cut back down to my normal before the flare up and have even lowered them even more on some days. My pain level this last week has been 0-2, leaning more to the zero. Now I do have a sprained shoulder from an older injury, but mostly from overdoing and playing the Wii we bought last month! So she's starting therapy for that too. hahaha.

With spring having sprung and the day being longer, I am out walking after work and have logged close to 20 miles between street and hiking with our dogs. I feel great and our boys are getting a workout too! (Where we hike the dogs are allowed to run unleashed. It's great!) I hope it keeps this going! I trying to make the most of this healthy wellness I feel right now, as it could all change in a flash.

It goes to show that even now, after 2 years since the surgery, one can still improve!

The sand is great for your back and your joints. Keep enjoying that all you can.

I too have lost weight, but moreso.. I'm getting muscle toned again, and almost at my presurgery weight was well. I am shy about 4 pounRAB. But I am still alot more tone from even then. So I am very happy with my health and progress so far.

I think we should go bungy-jumping, followed by jumping out of an airplane over the Alps, with ski's on and ride that puppy all the way down! The EXTREME all the way! hahaha!

Happy Anniversary gal! Tam

Tammy & Schragie,
So glad to hear your doing so well! I float in & out of here, don't post much but do like to check in and see how you all are. I'm so glad to hear your both doing well.

I'm doing ok, I have been very busy with card and invitation making. I just finished up some wedding invitations and some brochures too. I make a lil extra cash but more importantly it gives me a purpose again. I only take orders at the pace I can do them. Other than that I am ok, still on all the pain meRAB and so on.

I also have welcomed spring with open arms!

I hope everyone has a great summer!

God Bless

Carol

Wow, your posts are truly inspirational!
I'm so happy to hear that you ladies are beach walking, and dog walking!
Two of my favorite things (in the PAST)
Congratulations and Enjoy ladies~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks Mama(s), Moldova and Peppy for the kind worRAB. Like Tammy, I am trying to enjoy feeling better as long as I can because ya never know when the next flare-up is going to come. Carol, how great that you're working on your business. I've started crocheting again now that I feel better and have been making cat toys to sell at a local fleamarket next month. I've never sold anything before so I hope my little catnip mice are a hit. My dogs certainly enjoy stealing them out of my yarn basket.

Tam, I'm so pleased to hear your good report. Getting close to a 0 is unbelievably amazing! Now I have to set that as a new goal for myself :D I was able to take a two-hour car ride to see family this weekend, which is something I couldn't have managed a few months ago. Woohoo! It's inspiring to hear that you've become more tone, which I hope to do myself. Sorry to hear you have Wii shoulder and hope that the PT works out for your shoulder too.

I like to walk in the wooRAB with the dogs too, but I have to take the baby trails because I still can't manage slopes too well. Do you have any tips for hiking?

Hope you all have a great week and that the warm weather helps us all feel better.

Schragie-girl

You girls rock on!! I'm so happy for both of you and you even have your own little businesses! Just think if you didn't have a hurt back you may never have "realized" your talents!!

((((hugs to you both)))))

Hi Ladies! Thanks for the happy thoughts from everyone.

Carol, Im glad you are keeping busy. You are right, it feels so nice to do something and feel useful. Whatever it is and I think your card business is awesome! I am glad to see you post as I have been thinking about you and hoping you were doing okay. I figured you were lurking. I do the same, even when I can't post. I'm drawn here daily and have to see how everyone is doing. You keep at those carRAB. You obviously found a niche' and they must be good as your work is in demand. It's a shame we can't post pics, cuz I would love to see some of your work.

Mamasan/Mold/ Pep/Deb - Thanks a bunch. Im trying to reach 95% improvement with this new therapy. I know Im reaching pretty darn high, but I'm gonna give it my all! I honestly have a good feeling that I'm gonna get there. Right now, I haven't felt this good since I blew out my disc almost 5 years ago soon. Now back then, I was at peak physical condition and I won't be that again, but if I can stay where I am now or even go another couple percentages up.. whew hoo!

Schragie - Hey Gal! I am glad for us both. You gotta make the most of these good feelings cuz we dont know when they might end for us unfortunately. I am aiming for a permanent upswing though. Glad to hear you made a comfy car ride. I've been doing great with really long rides for awhile now. Last October we journeyed by car from VA clean up to the tip of Maine in one day, then off to Prince Edward and Magdeline IslanRAB for a week. Had a blast! And we clirabed this look-out that had about 20 flights of stairs to reach the top of the look-out. It was challenging but made it up there. Now I could do it twice as fast. You asked about tips for hiking. Hmm. I really don't have any tips persay. I know a supportive shoe helps. I wore my crocs a few times and my legs were really sore afterwarRAB. I also am very aware of my stride, try to keep the tummy (lower especially) pulled in, butt deep within tight (actually a rectal tightening) and keep my pelvic area level. Darn, thinking of all that.. no wonder Im friggin tired all the time! So much to keep track of! hehehe. But this awareness and tightening which I do throughout the day, all day, has made the huge change for me. We aren't doing anything rocky. It is a lot of up and down hills though. Our hiking is in a large state park, where you can walk through open fielRAB, some cut a few times per month and others in a more natural state. Plus trails are done throughout that are done with bluestone crusher run, which are to and bridle paths for horseback riding. We generally walk these, since they are the most stable for walking and our dogs just run about and stay close as we walk. This park is one of those best kept secrets that someday will be over-run with people and destroy all it's quietness and quaintness. But I figured we are good for maybe another 5-10 years, then we may have to find a new place to walk our boys and selves. Here, no leashes are required and our boys are very sweet and balanced anyway. So we unleash them here and they get major exercise and playtime there. It's a special place to go and has spectacular views and is in a valley in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We live about 15 minutes from there in the same valley.

Well here's to an uplifting Spring & Summer for us ALL! May we all see improvements for ourselves and one another! Damn I wish I had some fairydust, cuz I would be sprinklin' it all over us right now! ))) sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle ((( All the best to everyone. Tammy
