Just wondering if I get a pda or smart phone with Verizon Wireless do you have to get

the data service? I am thinking about buying a pda but I can't afford the extra money a month for getting data service I like the pda's for the extras but I live in a rural area and don't know if it would be the best idea to get data service or not. Also besides that I am looking for a phone that has great service reception would appreciate the help
