Just where can I find a large, simple, colorful, cheap e-reader?

You would think that I would have a lot of options in today's world for such a simple idea, but I haven't been able to find an eReader that suits my needs:

+ Does not require a bloody contract or subscription with a wireless carrier to use. I will never use this device somewhere that I cannot connect to wifi in the city, and out of the city, there's no coverage anyway.

+ Wifi functionality.

+ Multiple file formats, including epubs and pdfs.

+ Cannot be forced to use one publisher -- often times a book store will not carry what I am looking for, and I rarely/never shop at Amazon.

+ Dream function: Work with local or virtual libraries.

+ Color and touchscreen devices are nice and considered desirable flair.

+ LARGE SIZE. I am sick of these 6 and 7-inch screens. I am not a chic, coffee-sipping yuppie who needs this to fit in their pocket or little lady purse.

+ Logical price. 600 dollars for a tablet that I'm just going to put books on is insane when I can get full-blown laptops for less.

+ Massive amount of space, or ability to add on. I have more than 4 gigs in mathematics and science books ALONE.

+ Durable. I am always on the move.

+ Not the iPad, because I'm sick of iTunes and I traded my iPhone in for a Samsung Focus and haven't looked back.

I have a large physical library, and really, I just want to sell it off and move on to a fully digital collection. I don't need a musical device, or something to surf the web with (although those are cool spiffs). I have a laptop for doing work on, and my cell-phone handles music and maps and picture-taking just fine.
