I have a good male friend, mid-50s. He married [2nd marriage] about 3 years ago. Wife is 17 years younger than him, no children between the two of them. He has a good and steady job, as does she. Just bought a home together, settled into domestic life, yet he still tries to lure an exgirlfriend into a relationship with him, in spite of his seemingly happy condition.
He complains that he is miserable inside, yet his marriage is good, his job is good, and his life is good. He says he just wants to get into his car and drive away from all the good things he has. Can you help me help him? What is wrong inside that he would want to leave all the good things he has? Why does he pursue an ex when he has a happy marriage? Why, when a man has it all, does he persist in wanting to ruin it and leave it?
