One thing you prob. don't know, is that the fast track promotion costs the dealer money. So, if you got the bike for a great discount, then you burned the dealer with your move.

If, however, they only knocked 500 or so off, then you did okay.

Really depends on how much money off on the bike.... If they sold you the bike for cost to move a 2009, then you have one very pissed off dealer.... might think about finding another one!

My dealer sort of pulled something like that, I purchased a new 1198S Corse and traded in my 999R, after all said and done I find out about the deal so I asked him and he says first of all he's not participating bc: it cost him money, at the end you still have to pay for the track day, the tent and the tyre warmers could be bought way cheaper so he chooses to knock off $800 off the purchase of a new bike instead. I have no problem with that specially if I consider he gave me way more that I'd get out there for my 999R, he always takes the prep, freight off the bill and also adds the first 600 miles svc free so I guess I've got just as good as a deal IMHO.

I dont agree with that...if a dealer "knows of" and advertises a "promo" and then sells you a bike at an agreed price, why should the advertised "promo" be voided? Unless it's apart of the "agreed pice"...

My favorite part of this entire thread (other than seeing Jules new avatar) is how the OP described the Bullshit the dealer gave him as "Bovine Feces" I had a good chuckle over that one!

Haha, appreciate it Ducati5. I have a tendency to take words too seriously and use it as humor

I can careless if the dealer is loosing money by participating in the promotion. Sounds to me like it's a catch 22. U wanna lure customers buy participating in the promo, but u don't wanna hand out the promo items at a negotiated price. Sounds unfair for the customers who look up local dealers who are participating just so you can do a bait and switch.

Well, I'm not trying to go back to the subject of how the dealer is messed up or what not. I'm just glad DNA handled it in a timely and fair manner and the sales was nice and professional about it when he called me to inform me of my package.

If the dealer is participating in the promotion, they need to give you the stuff that Ducati is offering regardless of what you pay for the bike.

If the sales person gives you a good deal, it's not the buyers fault that perhaps the dealership won't make as much money, and as such you should not miss out on the promotion.

We've sold three 1198's since the promo started and all three customers were offered the stuff and chose to get it. Too many shops out there, doing funny/shady stuff, gives dealerships a bad name. We run an honest and straight forward shop, this is better in the long run and customers appreciate it, after all we're in the business of helping people get on bikes and ride, not screw people out of a few dollars here and there...

And to the original post, you did the right thing by claiming what is rightfully yours...

just my .02

I'm really tempted to put the dealers name, but as i stated in the original post, i'm not here to bad mouth anybody/dealer ( i think i wrote that... if not, then i thought about writing it ) but instead to inform the community to don't let any dealership pull a fast one by u guys. Not that I'm afraid of forum stalkers from dealerships, i'm just not here to bad mouth anybody directly.

Forzaduc78. Thumbs up to you, it's dealerships like you that makes communities like this possible. We live to buy, buy to enjoy, rinse and repeat.

I respect your position but I'm tired of these "dealers" getting away with it, it'll keep happening until we stop them.
If they are not put in the spot they'll never change, they'll just give you what was yours from the start and then they'll keep screwing other people over.
is not about badmouthing people, is about speaking out the truth and cleaning up the field.
this is absurd, you drop 20k and still have to becarefull not to be screwed over, the whole situation is just sad, greed.
