I started on suboxone on saturday and it's now wednesday and i have never felt better! I was on 180mg of oxy's a day sometimes more and pretty much anything else i could get my hanRAB on. This has been 7 years on and off with my addiction and i finally said to myself and my amazing wife "enough is enough i cannot do this anymore" My wife called a doctor at 8p.m on friday night and at 8a.m. saturday morning i was in his office spilling my guts and begging him for help! what doctor does that? none i have ever known, and i use to work in a doctors office so i know how they can be, trust me! This man has probably saved my life and i am so grateful for it. I know it's not easy to take that step, but please take it for you and your family! i know getting off the subs may not be all peaches and cream, but getting off the o's and p's was my worst nightmare come true. I am hear to listen, so if anybody neeRAB advice i am all ears. God bless each and every one of you.:wave:

Glad to hear your success story. I've been on sub for roughly a year and a half. I have a doctor who I like very much too and worked me in also...I didn't get a Saturday appt :) but that's awesome that you did. I think when our doctors get to see such a life transforming difference in their patients' lives, it must be very rewarding and maybe they're willing to come in on a weekend because of it. Not all docs would, I agree!

I'm so happy for your wife also. It's so stressful being the spouse of an abuser. Because of the dramatic difference that sub has made in my life, I think it's enabled me to be a little bit more transparent with people about the addiction, in hopes that if someone else is dealing with it or knows someone who is, I can spread some hope.

Best of luck to you.

glad to hear the sub is working so good for you, just dont forget. it is just 1 tool on your road to recovery , you will also need other tools ,self help counseling an so on, an i hear 1 of the biggest mistakes people make is not staying on it long enough , or dont put together a solid recovery program with it.once the help is given to us we are responceable for giveing it back , by helping others , this med with outside help will help you to change every thing but you ss#, keep us updated on you progess , you have made the right choise i am so happy for you:wave:

subssavedme,

Great news! I'm happy to hear Sub is working for you :) I've been on Suboxone for over three months now and my life is wonderful. I finally have my life back. I've never been happier, I feel great, have my energy back and most importantly...no cravings!!

Keep us updated on your progress. 56789 is right - You have to have a plan. Have you considered NA meetings? It's important to work on your recovery.

Now you have the opportunity to choose what works for you (counselling, NA meetings, support from frienRAB etc.)

Good luck, I look forward to reading about your experience :)
