Just started my garden with watermelon, squash...?

Hey I just started my garden. I live in the midwest, near the Illinois/Indiana border by Lake Michigan.
I've decided to grow watermelons, squash, cucumbers, carrots, lettuce, broccoli.
I would like to know how deep i should plant these seeds and if the weather where I am living would make it hard for any of these to grow.

Also, it would be great to receive some tips or must-dos that are important for growing any of these plants.

I live up in mid Michigan, so the weather isn't a problem. An important thing is your soil. You can take it into most lawn specialty stores and have it tested to see if it's good for planting. It's hard to say over the computer. But when you buy the packages with the seeds, they will tell you how deep to plant and how far apart from other ones. Just make sure to water earlier in the morning or later and later in the afternoon. Don't water during the peak heat of the day or it could damage your plants. Try not to water on the top of them, water underneath the leaves directly on the soil. If this is your first time gardening, I'd recommend doing a smaller garden until you get the hang of it. It can be a lot of work, and if you do more than you're ready for it can get discouraging. Good luck.

It was such a great to plant plants like those. To start a garden you make sure that you can give you r plantation enough care and love to grow well. However, it's good to have your own plot and manage it wherein you could be able to plant everything you to want plant.
