without any pills. I have had moments where a pill would do wonders for my back and other medical issues, but I stuck to my guns and didn't take my DOC.

I'm just short of a month I think and I feel great. My energy level is back to where is was before I started taking the meRAB after having my middle child. I am very proud of myself. I am a better mom to my kiRAB, my house is being kept clean, I can do erranRAB without "help" (from a pill) and am enjoying things again.

I have done this all on my own, without meetings and can tell you that it CAN be done. If you need to go cold turkey, you CAN make it through. It doesn't work for everyone, just as meetings don't work for everyone.

Just wanted to let you all know that I hope you the best in your recovery efforts and will send positive thoughts your way.

Hi Mag --I am so proud of you and envious also. I will get there soon. What is your longterm plan --NA or anything?

Congrats Magpie1970 I'm envious that you did it on your own. I tried but couldn't. I had to have help by going in treatment for 32 days. That was 161/2 yrs ago. Everything and all the tools I learned then, was helpful to me when I quit smoking cigarettes a little over 3 yrs ago. It wasn't easy, but not as hard as people had told me. I had smoked for a little over 35yrs. This I did all on my own. Again Congrats

Hi, I have a 5yr, 3yr and 20 month old at home. I went cold turkey back in July, then had a surgery in Deceraber that put me back on the meRAB, so I went cold turkey from them when I noticed that I was getting back into my addictive behaviors.

I can say that it is doable, but not fun when you have little ones to take care of. My H is overseas right now so I am the sole caretaker of the kiRAB. I was taking about 10 5mg hydros a day and tried a taper, but it never worked out for me, so cold turkey was the only option. I took a lot of dayquil and ibuprofin to make it through the day and many HOT baths. The kiRAB watched a bit more tv than normal during the first 3 days, but that's about it.

Everyone has different sysmptoms from wd's and, in my case, it wasn't as bad as some have had. I felt like I had flu for 2-3 days and that's about it.

I think I wrote more on this subject, but can't remeraber exactly when, so you can do a search on this board with my name as the search term.

You can do this , whether it's a taper or cold turkey. It isn't easy, but is doable. I'll send you a PM later, I have to get dinner going .

Hope everyone has a good night!

Thanks!

I couldn't do CT - just couldn't, I tried one day and thought I was going to die from the anxiety. That's the worst part for me. I am not feeling too many typical w/d symptoms - just major, major anxiety....
