Just how much is involved to replace a wd sensor and switch on a 2000 ford...

...contour tranny? My sister who is 82, heard some noises and jumping while driving, so she takes it in and they tell her they can repair it. They did the work and the bill was $319.00. This takes a big chunk out of her fixed income deposit, but she needs to get around to stay active and healthy ( God bless her ) It seems that when I did a little repair work on my own, that some transmissions had modules and other devices bolted or pressed in to them externally, and not labor intensive. The sensor alone was $97.00. Did they take advantage of a senior citizen?
I have viewed many good and accurate postings at Yahoo, besides dealers have self interest and preservation when they deal out answers. They usually start with "it all depends, bring it in for an estimate" When one does not 'know' they should remain silent.
