Just got my E65 on eBay.. Made in Finland!!

So I got my E65 today from eBay (Wireless Experts). Surprised to see that it didn't have Chinese strokes on it. So I flip it around and it's Made In Finland!!

I'll take pix tomorrow. Also interesting to note that it didn't come with any SD card, but had the other accessories. I'm not sure if this is a big issue, but the IMEI on the box didn't match the IMEI on the phone. Not sure if that's something I should contact them about or not..

anyway,.. posting just to prove that these Made In Finland E65's exist!
 
If you intend to use the BB service and the PIN number and IME number have been placed on another carriers system you will have a hard time activating the BB service. I only say this because you mention that the IME on the box does not match the IME on unit
 
Ok, so i charged it up overnight.. phone is awesome!!
The light sensor does work and works well (unlike Razr which turns the keypad on/off every second in medium light).

Pics are on the way. Other thing I just noticed -- The manual is in finnish! Not a problem since they have english versions on the web. Phone feels well made but there is a gap between the two halves of the slider -- not sure if this is better on the APAC/Made by Nokia versions.

I'll post pics later on today..
 
Nope. not that I can see. Where would I find it? I checked each menu. What I did find which was surprising were 3 GPS-type apps: Navigator, Landmarks and Position. I always thought they were an add-on.

Also came with a Setting Wizard that automatically set up my Internet (GPRS), MMS for T-mobile USA. Didn't have to send a MSG to configure, it just configured automatically after I inserted the SIM. Never had that on any other nokia phone...
 
Phew~ i just checked my phone and the light sensor works. It takes a second or 2 for it to detect a light change and the keypad will light up/turn off.

My phone came with the gps apps too. Wish i had a gps to test it out.. hehe..

Oh, how do you check where your phone was made? i think mine is made in singapore. well, they guy i bought it from was from singapore, and you are able to type in chinese with it (i think, it has the characters).

All these N95 threads are screwing with my eyes.

Didn't someone say they tried the rotateme app on their E65 and it didn't work? Or was that the E50 I'm thinking of?
 
The "intended for Singapore" models should have Chinese characters on the keyboad, and the My Own Key has a Globe rather than a Star on it. Also if you hold down the # key, it won't change to Silent Profile.

Finally, the battery probably has a "Nokia Pte. Ltd" sticker on it.

I have the Chinese character and the globe on My Own Key but my # key DOES let me change to Silent Profile. Am I in the minority? My # silent key has always worked!!
 
The way you check is look on the back of the phone under the battery compartment and it will say either "Made by Nokia" or "Made in Finland".
