Just got a Boss single dim, 5 volt preamp output and also got two 5.25 boss 3 way 225W speakers and two 6.5m Boss 3 way 250W speakers to replace the stock ones. so i put them in and crank it up and its not very loud at all not even close to the stocks max. then on top once i turn the volume up past a certain point the back speakers start breaking,( sounds like a cd skipping ). so do i need an amp or are the defective or what/ help will be greatly appreciated!
tried messing with the bass and treb but nothing seems to help
Tom: i did what you said before and thats why i think they are the back speakers(its on the back shelf too). The stereo is suppose to put out Peak: 50 watts x 4 channels( RMS: 17 watts x 4 channels)
and a correction the 6.5s are 200 watt.
