I am so excited that I found this site. I am care giver for my husband of 42 years. He was diagnoised 10-12-09 after we noticed he was jaundice. He had labs, ct scans, procedures and was told we had chiolangiocarcinoma (Head of the pancreas.) Had the whipple procedure on 11-6-09 and was told he was 99.9% cancer free. We saw an oncologist who ordered new ct scan to re grade the cancer with the hope of radiation/infused chemo to start in one week. The test showed his pancratic cancer had spread to the liver and several lymph nodes. Now the radiation is canceled and he is on gemzar chemo once a week for 3 weeks, then off a week, then it restarts again.
He has Grade 4 pancreatic cancer with mets to the liver. He has several side effects from the chemo. rash temp body aches no appitite. He is very fatigued and doing less each week. He is getting abd pain off and on. I am just looking to find out where we stand right now being at this stage. How sick he will get in the weeks to come. He had lost 35 lbs but is regained some up to this past week. We have daughters that are very helpful. I am just having trouble keeping a positive attitude. Knowing that this is advanced cancer. Will the chemo make any difference.
