According to my unit requirements I must complete the following before being "allowed" to ride.
MSF basic rider course, MSF advanced or expert course, the sport bike course (which is targeted to sportbike riders only) and a simulator class. All of this due to fatalities we had in the past year. Sadly, we still having soldiers getting killed on motorcycles after completing all of the classes.

Wow. I guess I'm riding the heck out of mine relatively speaking. I picked up my bike on 8/27. I've ridden the bike about 5 days total or maybe a day or two more. I just did the first service today. I actually had to park the bike for a little bit since I didn't want to blow past the 600-700 mile mark before my appointment to take it in today. As of today, I'm around 680 miles on the odo.

As far as the MSF class goes, I did take the ERC class after I completed the BRC. I did the ERC on my 04 ZX-10R. I agree it was not very fun. Especially when the instructor kept telling me he wanted me to get the bike into 2nd gear. He didn't realize how much this was going to bog down my motor. Doing the box wasn't fun. I crossed the line twice. What was funny about the class was when I did the 90/135 degree turns. The instructor told me to get the bike into 2nd gear when I completed the first 90 degree turn. So I abliged. I ended up carrying enough speed where when I started into the 135 degree turn I had to lean the bike over far enough to drag my right foot through the turn. I also did some stoppies during the braking practicals. Pretty funny.

I agree, this entire shitty central valley is like the stinky armpit of CA. What doesn't smell like it came from a cows anus around here? lol

If it weren't for my 2 boys living here with their mom I would be back in the Caribbean in a bloody heartbeat!

Stop complaining-you could be about 50 miles up in Porterville. If you think Bakersfield is an armpit, try living there. I did a tarvel assignment there for 13 weeks and I'm amazed I didn't slit my wrists.
