While my 848 is my 3rd sportbike, I've never taken a motorcycle safety course and since I needed my license in this country anyway I went ahead and did it.

I must admit that even after 15yrs of riding, that damn figure 8 box is still a little challenging lol!

I get my DMV form in the mail Thursday so I'll be at my DMV Friday to have them process my permit into a license and give me a temp. I also did my regular drivers license at the same time so when I got my permit I took both the auto and the motorcycle written tests. They didn't even check my vision, talk about easy!

Now it's time to start putting some serious mileage on my 848!

Whoa, hold on there 92GTA, before you proceed to your next level, you must discuss in detail all safety gear worn by said junior MSF lad riding blue cruiser.

I just made myself giggle a bit. Congrats and enjoy being legal while riding

Wow, I just got back from my first ride, she has 72 miles on her now.

OMG she shifts beautifully and sounds like an angels voice!

I was good and only hit 72 once, kept it between 45-55 almost all the time. I kept the RPM's between 3.5-6K rolling on the throttle then letting off leaving it in the same gear.

I can't wait until this baby is broken in!

It's something quite amazing after you get done with your first ride! I smiled for the entire weekend after riding mine home last summer.

Just wait till you get the break in service done and catch that freeway on ramp... Roll on that throttle all the way and hang the f#%k on!!! First you're there, , then you're not!

1098 + parking lot = not fun

I still don't see the point of doing tight s turns thru cones on one of these superbikes. If I'm moving slower than 10 mph, I put my foot down.

I have to admit, it felt much better when I went WOT on a freeway ramp right after the course was dismissed.

A day at a track was way more beneficial.
