just changed a battery on my Jeep Liberty and now my radio is not

acknowledging my cd player.? The mode used to go from fm, cd, to am, but it is skipping CD now and I cant eject, use or anything with the CD 6 disc player in the dash. Its a factory radio in my 05 Jeep liberty.
I have read some other people having the same problem with their jeeps on the web. Yes I know I have 5 cds in the 6 disc changer. i cant insert or eject ive tried.
 
I would try to disconnect the battery again , this just does not make any sense are you sure you have cd's in the deck if so try to fake insert 1 or just insert 1 more see what happends , let us know
