I just bought this phone on ebay, and for some reason its reception on Cingular is nothing compared to my old cingular crappy phone. Is my phone bad or is it really possible to have the reception go from near perfect to almost not there with a switch of a phone? Does it need a stronger SIM card or something? Any ideas how I can boost this? Thanks so much..

What king of phones are they?
Is the RF still bad on the first phone?
What are the frequencies of the phones?. Cingular operates on GSM 850 and 1900. It is possible that the new phone doesn't run on 850 and only picks up a 1900 tower farther away.
I have never heard of a "stronger sim" so I don't know about this.
Some phones just have worse RF then others. By the way, the # of bars isn't a true measure of signal strength!
It is possible that you got a dud. Try someone else's cingular phone in your house and check the RF. You may need to go to a different phone.

Every other cingular phone works in this room except for my 7270. I have sent it back and received a second 7270 and they both have the same problem. Is there any way to fix this that you can think of? Do those booster stickers help at all?

The nokia 7270 operates on 900 1800 and 1900 MHz only. Cingular operates on 850 and 1900. US carriers use 850 and 1900. The 900 and 1800 are worthless to you unless you travel overseas. So basically your phone is a 1900 only US phone. Your missing half your coverage, man! Your other phone probably also picked up the 850 band, which was probably a closer tower or has better indoor penetration. The only thing you can do is send the phone back and get a 850 and 1900 band phone.
