Today I purchased a 91 two-door cavalier. I bought it as a winter beater, but it turns out that it is in really great shape. the motor runs like a top, no fluids leak at all. The body has a few dings on it and there is a little rust right under the driver side door. I am almost thinking about sprucing it up a little and maybe driving it in the summer time as well because it does have the potential. I want to know if that automotive spray paint that they sell at walmart is any good? I have never painted a car before and I figure this is the perfect type of car to try my luck. Right now the car has multiple colors on it, like a red trunk. an off-white hood, white fenders. This car has obviously been ditched a couple times, but the suspension and alignment are excellent so whatever accidents it has been in, it has obviously been repaired the right way. So I'm thinking a new paint job (done by me), should I prime it first? Some hubcaps, what else can I do to get this car a little nicer? I have never really has a beater that was worth my time. Any input is greatly appreciated.
