To recap, Case Closed (known in Japan as Metantei Conan/Detective Conan) which is a murder mystery anime, made it's US debut on Adult Swim in 2004 and stopped running in 2005.
Some of the reason why it didn't catch on are attributed to reasons like the early episode having more dated animation or not being as high on action as other action/adventure anime. But the reason that I see the most is that it was just too much of a middle ground show to find an audience. The murder aspects and other content automatically made it impossible to run as a CN show or even Toonami, and the content wasn't high enough to work as an adult cartoon.
Now could the show have worked if it premiere on CN as a PG Rated show or is the show as a whole still more intense then anything on CN's other PG Rated Toons (like say Naruto or DBZ which were near Uncut)?
Don't get me wrong. I get my CC fill with the manga, but this question has been on my mind on and off.
