The Nokia 6290 is Nokia's first mid-range smartphone to offer S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1.

There's 4 but this is the only smartphone:

Personally it's all in the details so I'll be awaiting more info before deciding if I'm interested in it or not.

Since this was announced in europe I doubt it has US 3G, at least not initially. We don't have any details yet but based on pics I noticed it has mini-USB connector with volume keys on the right side, as well as a memory card slot and 2 more buttons on the left side.

If those specs are right that's $$ for the price. Quad band GSM, S60 FP1, both USB and pop-port (wtf?), 50megs, FM radio, 2MPx with flash, over 10 days stand-by time..

It seems very similar to the N75, the same basic sizes, with a couple of differences:

- European 3G
+ USB port
+ 2.5mm audio jack (!!)
+ Better battery
+ S60v3FP1
+ Standard camera positioning for a clamshell (no bump behind the battery cover)
+ Slightly less expensive

This seems like a winner.

are all flip phones going to have the same boring keypad? If so, I guess I should just move on to a new provider. Minus color they are all starting to look the same through the range.

yes, officially it has not started, but phones get announced 1st before the actual event, so basically thats it! no more surprises! lets move on...

"Yeah, I don't know why they are disregarding the US. Must be because we only have like a 17% market share over here. The US will get some new phones, they are in the works right now. I will keep you posted."

Direct quote from a very reliable source of mine. That's literally the entire email, so don't bother asking for more info. If I get anything I can share, I will.
