the israeli jets were unmarked also. they were probably trying to get us into the war thinking it was egypt that attacked us. they were banking on the liberty sinking which it didnt, then they had an oh shit moment and sent a torpedo boat

They didn't get an approval but the ship moved in anyways. So you had an intelligence ship now 20 miles off the coast and you had Israel preparing for the secret push into Syria the next day.
Question is, did Israel tell the US to back that ship away and was ignored?
Only maritime attack on a US warship that Congress refused to do an investigation on. That tends to make me suspicious that the Liberty was somewhere where it wasn't supposed to be.

The same administration that denied giving the USS Liberty a destroyer for protection...and offered jets for protection that could be there in 10 minutes to protect the Liberty. The same jets were recalled by the administration during the attack.
The jets you speak of were nuclear tipped and headed for Egypt. The jets I am speaking of had air to air missiles and air to sea missiles. My jets were recalled twice and told to return to the ship, leaving the Liberty and its men to die at sea.
