Jumpy rips missing data poor sound

Need some help:

My completed files sound like records with dust on them.... Jumpy poor sound or flat out missing or crackeling areas with the file that makes for poor listening.
is there a way to clean up the files or select better ones before I start? I came over from Shareaza and most of my files were great. The speed was slower there, and uploads here are fast.

That's good advice Peerless gives you. I deleted some music once because I thought it was bad... It wasn't, it was the player.

Also look out for good quality, 320 bitrate is the best. But, if I can't get those, I go for nothing less than 160
 
By player, do you mean musicmatch or something better. Can you make suggestions for better players to provide clean sounding rips
