Films that really should have stopped the "franchise" at their peak instead of chasing the money and making absolute duRAB;

I'll start

Beverly Hills Cop 2 & 3. Eddie, the first one was the pinnacle of your career, the other two were just shockingly bad.

Jaws 2, 3 and however many 3D versions. Nasty!

Much of the "horror" genre.

Halloween 2,3 4.
Friday the 13th sequels etc. Surely some Hollywood player would have called these Friday 14th and 15th etc

There are scores of others to mention but I will let you guys spout forth!

Saturday Night Fever (should never have bothered with 'Stayin' Alive')

The Matrix (should never have bothered with two and three)

Star Wars Episodes 1, 2, 3 and 6 should never have been made

Slap Shot 2

Scream 2, 3

Child's Play 2, 3 and Seed of Chucky ( Bride was pretty decent )

I LOVED Stayin' Alive! It probably ranks up there with the worst films ever made, but Travolta in a loincloth (in the shape he was in back then) was a sight not to be missed.

Predator 2
Alien 3
Matrix Revolutions
Mad Max 3 - Beyond The Blunderdome
Blade Trinity
Land of the Dead
Return of the Living Dead Part 2
Evil Dead - The Army of Darkness
Mortal Kombat Annihilation

I actually think Scream 2 was OK. It just about managed to side-step the very horror genre cliches that Scream parodied, and Scream 3 dived straight into.

The Halloween films have been mentioned once or twice. The Halloween franchise was OK, until they did Halloween: H20 which was a blatant attempt at cashing in on the teen slasher craze spawned by Scream. I know Halloween 3 is pretty dire, but that's generally regarded as non-canon anyway.

I'd suggest that Ocean's 12 and Ocean's 13 didn't need to be made. The original re-make wasn't that bad as re-makes go - no need for the poor sequels though.

I have to disagree about Halloween H20 as the JTS because as much as I love the whole franchise (Apart from the last one)
I feel that Halloween 5 with it's mysterious guy in black, and silly plot made it a true cash in after the underrated H4.

Halloween H20 was in itself a good movie but for fans of anything part 2 and was a late 90's slasher cash in movie.
