Jump Start Chevy Lumina Amperes required?

This is my grandmother's old car, and I'm constantly faced with a dead battery because I usually only drive it once a week. I'm sure there's a short somewhere because the battery is new and the alternator is fine. John from AAA who, despite being awesome, I'm sick of seeing and I'm trying to find a Jump Starter on Amazon. There's the cranking amps and then there's the max amps, and I've no idea what my car is going to require. Each time I go to start it, it's completely dead so I know that means I'll need more juice. This is just a temporary fix until I can get it home and have my dad look over everything electrical.

So, TLDR: Need Jump Starter, please explain the difference between the cranking and peak amps and guestimate what I need to jump my completely dead chevy Lumina!
