Well I'm 20 and in the process of Joining the Military because I think it would be very beneficial to my future. I know this is something I want to do I'm just very scared, I guess from leaving everything I have here to go into the unknown. Also my boyfriend is not supporting me at all, basically I know if I join I'm going to lose him and I'm worried if I do I would regret it. And I'm the type of person that like to take Medicine for everything like, headache, stomachache normal stuff like that (over the counter) and I know in Basic I can't take anything I was just wanted to know if anyone had any advice on breaking that for basic or do they have like a nurse in basic that you could go to and get some Midol or Asprin from. Fyi - No these are not excessive or would prevent me from enlisting.

I just wanted to get some advice from people on these matters. Thank You :D

If you are planning on going army they do allow meds. in basic training and in AIT mos training. In basic we went to the px (store) about every 2 weeks to get things we needed so you can purchase it there and if you needed something stronger there are sick calls at 5 am you can go to. But its best not to go unless you need to, they will call you a sick call ranger. and you will miss alot of training. Also in ait you can have meds. they will let you go to sick call, or to the px to get them...however in ait you are not allowed to have the meds in your lockers, the sgts keep them with your name on it and distribute them as needed. good luck
