Interested in speaking to a recruiter about this MOS. I'm 25 years old and completely burnt out from working as a prison guard and looking for change. Looking for any information anyone with experience can offer as I figure there's much more to the position than what Go Army has. Such as what is their AIT like? Obviously it's not hard to figure out what 35M's do on deployment in a warzone, but what is their role when you are at home? Trying to make sure I don't join the military to do one job and then end up doing laundry or plumbing when I'm stateside.
Also I have a few generalized "Army" questions. Deployments aside (I understand a soldier can deploy for to a year and a half to sandbox) what is life like stateside? My fiance is a little skeptical at the idea of never seeing me. She and I understand that at some point everybody has to go to Afghanistan, but at the same time isn't really interested in not seeing me when I'm stateside. What are your hours on base? Six days a week? 12 hours a day? Just trying to figure out as much as possible before I make a decision that affects the next 4-8 years of my life. Thanks in advance. . .
